We’re looking for an individual with journalism and user engagement experience to help us cultivate and manage a robust discussion of religion around the world. If you can imagine a fascinating, civil, diverse series of online discussions about these matters, and have the community management skills to make them real, then we’re listening. You’ll be embedded with our international coverage team in Washington, D.C., working with our editors to deepen and extend our coverage of religion. You should be a strong writer, with a reporter’s hunger to seek a varied mix of perspectives on any subject, experience with building online communities, and expertise in matters of culture, belief, and belonging. You should also be undaunted by web discussion platforms, from Twitter to Reddit to Facebook Groups to Disqus.
Across Atlantic Media, generally, the firm looks for two “pillar gifts” in its candidates. In all of us, these are more aspirational than actual, but they are central in our intentions.
1. Force of Intellect - Atlantic Media seeks a discipline and rigor of thought as manifested, often, in exceptional academic performance and, later, success in a professional environment.
2. Spirit of Generosity - Equally, Atlantic Media seeks what we term a spirit of generosity – a natural disposition towards service and selfless conduct.
Atlantic Media is an EOE of Minorities/Women/Vets/Disability.
