We are working on ambitious new audio projects at the Atlantic, and we’re looking for an experienced producer and editor to join our team. This position is an opportunity to help build and shape an expanding portfolio of podcasts. The person we have in mind has a versatile skillset and is capable of running shows and creating across a number of formats, from two-ways to deeply reported audio narratives. You should be a pro at all the basics: producing an engaging interview, prepping and tracking hosts, reporting and recording in the field, cutting tape, assembling sessions, and mixing. But you should also have high-level experience structuring stories, shaping scripts, and executing a clear vision for a show. We are looking for someone with a sharp sense of the podcast landscape and creative ideas for how to translate the Atlantic’s journalistic strengths into audio.
