We are looking for a digitally native, highly creative video producer who can pitch and report stories for our newly-launched weekly show, Quartz News.
Quartz is a digitally native news outlet with headquarters in New York and bureaus worldwide. Launched in 2012, we are a guide to the new global economy for people in business who are excited by change.
The successful candidate needs to have strong journalistic instincts, an interest in international news, and an eye for smart, interesting—often counterintuitive—stories. You’re a self starter who can work independently as well as with the rest of the team to bring a story to fruition.
You should be a strong producer. On-camera experience, editing ability, and motion graphics skills are all pluses. Most importantly, you should have a strong grasp of how to structure a good narrative. You should be used to thinking visually, and know how to tell a story in the most engaging way.
This journalist will join a highly collaborative international team with a mandate to pursue stories best told in video. We are looking for someone with an obsessive interest in digital videos and a compulsion to find the most original, creative approaches to stories.
Knowledge of languages in addition to English are a plus. This role is based in our New York office.
The role is a full-time contract with benefits, through June 2019
To apply, please submit a cover letter, resume, and five links to relevant work - specifying your role on each.
