Atlantic Media is looking for a new Senior Accountant to support the Finance and Accounting department.
Who the Staff Accountant is:
This individual will be responsible for the following areas: Managing general ledger activity and the month-end close process, including the preparation of journal entries and reconciliations in collaboration with accounts payable and accounts receivable staff. Supervising, training and serving as a technical resource to two staff accountants. Documenting procedures in place and evaluating new procedures to improve efficiency. Staying up to date with relevant accounting and statutory guidance and researching application of existing and upcoming relevant accounting and statutory guidance. Reviewing contracts and invoices to ensure proper accounting in accordance with GAAP, in particular with regards to revenue recognition. Analyzing account balance fluctuations and trends. Assisting with the coordination, preparation and review of schedules for audit and tax filings and reports. Assisting financial analysts and operational managers with questions and identifying budget variances. In addition, this individual will produce ad hoc financial reports and take on other miscellaneous projects as requested.
The candidate will ideally possess a CPA License. They will be resourceful and have the ability to work independently and proactively. Experience with Workday Financials is preferred but not required.
